Philanthropy and Service

Service is one of our key tenets as a fraternity. We maintain a focus on service through our own philanthropic efforts, benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, as well as through our participation in other fraternities' and sororities' philanthropies and our own days of service.

Our current primary philanthropy is Pig Pickin', a barbecue held on the Greek Quad featuring awesome pulled pork BBQ, great side dishes, and a variety of sauces, all of which are homemade by brothers. It also features some great live music from local bands. This year we had the pleasure to partner with Delta Zeta for Pig Pickin', held in conjunction with their Turtle Tug philanthropy, and featured music by the Dipping Skinnies. The event was a great success, raising almost $2,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Delta Zeta's national philanthropy, the Painted Turtle Camp. We hope to see everyone at next year's event!

FarmHouse also holds several days of service throughout the year. We have adopted a 2 mile stretch of Old Clemson Highway in Seneca, just across Lake Hartwell from Clemson, and we clean this section up at least 4 times a year. In addition, we hold our primary Day of Service doing clean-up and set-up work for the year at Asbury Hills in Cleveland, SC.

Our 2017 Philanthropy Chair is John Shearin. He can be reached at jsheari@g.clemson.edu.
